Blackboard Figure Problems?

As of right now the problem described below is just a concern for the online 1408 class. General Biology II can ignore this page...

Because of problems with figures in Blackboard quizzes -- an ongoing problem since we shifted Blackboard platform January 2012 -- but apparently made worse by a bad course transfer for the online General Biology I this semester, I have posted the figures for the problematic Virtual Microscope lab quizzes here in the "Investigations (virtual labs)" folder via a link from the General Biology Hub.

Here are the figures. This is a "band-aid" solution. You must log in to Blackboard to take and to submit the quiz. I recommend that you keep two web pages open -- this page and the Blackboard quiz.

Virtual Microscope Quiz 01 -- MicParts.

Only one figure is used for this quiz (fill in the blanks questions).

Virtual Microscope Quiz 02 -- MicSlide.

Seven figures are used for this quiz (multiple choice questions).

Virtual Microscope Quiz 03 -- MicVirtual (first part).

No pictures used in the Blackboard quiz. However, the 2nd part of the quiz was damaged when the course shell was uploaded. I am working on a solution. Meanwhile, you can do the first part and also the quiz that follows this quiz (Quiz 04 -- MicElectron)...

Virtual Microscope Quiz 04 -- MicElectron.

Four figures are used for this quiz (multiple choice questions).

This quiz has been updated, the figures have been uploaded again -- specifically for this class to avoid "permissions" problems. I believe that all students should be able to see the pictures. Let me know in the Microscope Collaborations bulletin board if you cannot...

Virtual Microscope Quiz 03 -- MicVirtual (2nd part).

In progress -- this might take a while -- solution to the damaged 2nd part of the "Virtual Microscope Quiz 03 -- MicVirtual".

Keep up the good work!

As an educator I thank whom it may concern for allowing the use of material under the "fair use rule" for educational purposes to educate this and future generations.

Several evolution cartoons used on this page are reposted from http://www.ucl.ac.uk/sts/cain/projects/ejn/ejn_comics/, a web page with similar fair use policy as the web master of this page. As stated on the page: "Every effort has been made to not include materials copyrighted by other people and to respect the intellectual property of others. Should some item be identified as not in the public domain, simple notice is requested so Dr Cain can ensure this material is removed. He wants to respect everyone's copyright." The page with the evolution cartoons provides information about the otherwise lost journal "Evolution" in the 1920s and 1930s devoted to promoting the teaching of evolution in US public schools.

If anyone feels that his or her material cannot be used this way I will immediately remove it if notified.
